Fallyn Mitchell is barely able to make ends meet working as a freelance reporter and if she doesn't snag a full time job or land a big story soon, she'll be living on the street. As if her life wasn't complicated enough, Fallyn has been plagued night after night with unexplained dreams of a mysterious stranger, whose presence is always hidden behind shadows. When the prominent, Simon Clairmont of Clairmont Industries, specifically requested Fallyn for an exclusive interview, something he rarely does, she thought her luck was finally turning around, but, of course, it could never be that easy.

Simon and his cousin, Reese, are Vampires, known as Eternals. They've had centuries to accumulate their wealth and improve their social status. Good and evil exists in both vampire and mortal realms. Simon, along with his faction, prides themselves on doing good towards others and ridding both realms of evil doers. The moment Simon gazed upon the beauty of this stunning, mortal woman, Fallyn Mitchell, he was instantly enchanted. He knew he had to claim her as his mate. Following her every move, protecting her from harm and even entering her dreams while she slept, Simon was obsessed. Unable to contain his desire any longer, he deliberately lured Fallyn to him.

What Fallyn thought was going to be a normal interview turned into a nightmare when Simon revealed his true nature. Shocked and dismayed she ran, jumping into the first car she flagged down. Of course, Fallyn’s timing couldn't have been worse, after she found out the driver was Simon’s malicious brother, Lucas, determined on revenge and world domination. Knowing what his brother is capable of, Simon is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice to keep the mortal woman he loves alive.

Obsession Everlasting is an interesting and enchanting read. Lisa Phillips has created a unique and appealing realm between mortals and vampires. The emotional tension between Fallyn and Simon is heart felt. The characters are portrayed life-like and the plot stayed on course throughout the story. I enjoyed this story and will recommend it to other readers in the Paranormal Romance genres.

Born as the only male in a tribe of blood-drinking sorceresses, known as the Dyadd, Bastian's life has never been easy. Unfortunately, when he encounters his father for the first and last time, Bastian discovers how problematic and challenging his life will soon become. His father, Adryn, is an Athin; they are known for being powerful ice mages and for their abilities to bend time and space to their will. Adryn informed Bastian that, as his only heir and the last of their kind, he has came to pass on their legacy, but along with it comes their curse, bestowed upon their kind by a vengeful, blood thirsty Daemon King, Cadmus. The curse is known as the narial, a soul-eating shadow creature that hates and destroys everything that is beautiful and pure, slowly devouring the soul of its victims, ultimately resulting in their death.

Since obtaining this horrifying curse, Bastian has learned to guard his emotions, but in doing so has alienated himself from his family, friends and potential relationships. His main objective is to seek a way of breaking his curse or destroy the narial before it has a chance to destroy him. Bastian's quest leads him to Lucien Andrakkar, a feisty, stubborn and sarcastic dragon shifter. And of course, with Bastian's kind of luck, Lucien is being held captive by the Daemon. Daemons are known for being flesh-eating sorcerers that cannot tolerate sunlight; they specialize in curses and are keen on torturing their enemies to death. Lucien is hidden deep within the lair of the Blighted Kingdom and has, thus far, suffered a year of torture. Bastian is capable of realm hopping, traveling to other worlds in the blink of an eye and was able to rescue Lucien from the depths of his prison. Bastian needs Lucien's blood in order to gain strength to defeat the narial, but it has to be freely given and Lucien's fragile and broken body needs to be healed before doing so.

No matter what choices Bastian makes, it seems to lead him further into disaster. Not only is he dealing with a grouchy, pompous and arrogant dragon on the edge of death, but he chose to hide Lucien amongst his enemies, known as the Arukhin, a pack of shape-shifting were-wolves. When Duncan, the pack's Alpha, introduced Bastian to his niece, Catriona, his predicament went from bad to worse. The extremely intense and hypnotic, sexual connection Bastian and Cat experience will ultimately bind them together as true mates for life. Bastian's strength is rapidly decreasing, while the narial is lurking in the shadows waiting for the opportunity to fulfill the curse by feeding from Bastian's happiness, devouring his soul in the process. Bastian has to find a way to save himself and his true mate, but will he be able to persuade a stubborn old dragon into offering him his blood? And will it be the cure that is needed to finally end four generations of his families curse?

Wild Highland Magic is a well written, intoxicating read. I was completely engrossed within the pages of the story and was impressed by the depth of description and sense of emotions, vividly expressed by the author. Mrs. Kendra Leigh Castle has created a remarkable, fascinating and enjoyable story that any reader will gain a sense of satisfaction from reading. I definitely recommend this book.

Lady Anne Addison is well-known for her keen sense and extreme persistence, but due to her plain features and cleverness (qualities most men find unappealing), her mother had feared Anne would never gain the attention of potential suitors. Her mother decided to raise her in the edicts of “Lady-Like” behavior and instructed Anne to downplay her intelligence until she was married. After catching the interest of a young man, her engagement came to a devastating end. Her fiancé was killed in battle. Anne vowed never to let the restrictions of marriage interfere with displaying her true personality. She is completely satisfied with living the life of a spinster, waiting for Mr. Right to appear.

In response to a startling letter from a dear friend, Lady Lydia Bestwick, who pleaded for Anne’s assistance, Anne wasted no time in traveling north to Darkefell Estate. Assuming from the information Anne gathered from Lydia’s letter, she was concerned that her friend is being mistreated by her newly married husband, John Bestwick. Also, Lydia expressed a terrifying mystery involving rumors of a werewolf roaming the lands, frightening young women and slaughtering livestock. Since Anne has always been intrigued by a challenging mystery, she was eager to investigate these sightings.

It was just a short time before Anne stumbled across her first murder scene. Hearing a blood chilling howl in the dark, followed by a petrifying scream, that was later identified as Lady Lydia’s maidservant, Cecilia Wainwright. Among the chaos and confusion that ensued over the murdered woman, Anne had a chance to be introduced to the Darkefell Family and their inhabitants. Using this opportunity, she began her interrogation, but was constantly interrupted by the Marques of Darkefell, who made it a habit o interfering with her plans. It almost seemed as though the Marques is concealing some deep dark secret from her. Could he be the murderer?

Lady Anne is faced with several challenges and multiple mysteries. She is determined to continue her investigation at any cost, but what she did not foresee was her growing attraction towards a man who is known for his arrogant, self centered and egotistical ways. How will Anne be able to resist the Marques’s handsome features, dark, sensuous eyes, and lean, masculine build, without straying from her quest? Will she be able to solve the curse behind Darkefell Estate before the werewolf claims its next victim?

Lady Anne and the Howl in the Dark is a charming and delightful read. The witty nature between Lady Anne and Lord Darkefell is fascinating and will hold the attention of the reader all the way through the story. Donna Lea Simpson has managed to write an inspiring, creative and pleasurable tale, with appealing characters and an intriguing plot that will have the reader guessing until the very end. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is fond of historical romance and mystery genres.

In the year 1313, a devoted group of young witchlings at the Witches Academy, were banished by the Head Mistress, Eurydice, due to a fellow witchling that had cast a nasty spell on a member of nobility. Since none of the witches admitted to the transgression or named the transgressor, every one of them was sentenced to spend a century on the mortal world, before returning back to their realm. Seven hundred years later, the witches have grown accustomed to the mortal world and was actually enjoying their time living amongst the mortals and other supernatural beings.

Anastasia and Blair have remained best friends ever since the Academy. Over the centuries, they have traveled vast areas and have had many adventures, but when they came across a beautiful, serene lake, the color of moonstone and sensed its magical pull, they decided to stay and make it their home, but that was a long time ago, in the gold mining days of the 1800’s. Currently, the Town of Moonstone Lake has gradually developed over the ages and the townspeople are now aware of Stasi and Blair’s true identities, along with the knowledge that other supernatural’s do exist. The two witches have befriended the majority of the townspeople, but of course, there are a few who dislike them for what the are.

Stasi is known for being the nice, timid witch, who specializes in romance spells, which comes in handy considering she owns a very sensuous lingerie shop. Stasi loves to use a little of her power to boost her customers self esteem and confidence, hence the special sachets she adds to each of her customer’s purchase. Only one time has she altered the spell and only because she wanted to do the right thing, not anticipating the fact that the vindictive customer, Carrie, would file a lawsuit against her in Wizard’s Court, complaining that Stasi had destroyed her marriage and wanting to strip Stasi of her powers.

It’s assumed that wizards and witches don’t mix, so when Carrie’s lawyer, Trev Barnes, enters the shop, Stasi if furious. What’s even more distracting is the animated red hearts circling his head and Trev notices the same about Stasi. Cupid must be playing some kind of sick joke! In the midst of fighting against their sexual desires and Blair in hot pursuit of the town’s handyman, Jake, there is something wickedly evil brewing in the air, encircling the town, affecting the townspeople, the weather, and their beautiful lake.

There will be no time for budding romance or celebrating Samhain with their friends, if they do not act swiftly to stop the past from recurring, Stasi will have to show bravery and overcome her fear in order to set things right with the world. But, will she be able to conquer true love or is it just cupid trying to punish her for trespassing into his territory?

One of the reasons that the Truebloods are resented by the lesser, tainted vampires was the fact that they are capable (among other things) of procreation. Vampires that are created are sterile, but Truebloods are born, therefore, able to reproduce, making infertile vampires fertile. This alone puts all Truebloods in danger, threatening their freedom and their lives. Luka owns and operates a gay night club located in Yorkshire. There’s rarely a dull moment, considering that the patrons are a mix of Vampires, Werewolves and Mortals. Luka believed he was being cleaver when he came up with the notion of opening the club, in prospects of adverting attentions of any female vampires, intent on making advances towards him; he even concocted a story about a gay lover. But, Luka had not foreseen that by creating this façade, it would lead to his abstinence; to make matters worse, his desire for sex and blood had increased, and even, at the thought of sex, his arm would mysteriously itch, which became insanely bothersome. Chloe quit her job after being swindled out of a position she strived to obtain and was furious that her ex-boss had the audacity to award her a consolation prize. After returning home from a miserable evening, Chloe could care less about the rotten consolation prize. She attempted to throw away the envelope, not even looking inside, but the voices in her head had other plans, forcing her to open and read it. She was invited to attend a four day, all expense paid trip, to Sunset Spa. As Chloe noticed the address, she was shocked and dismayed; it was the place she lived in as a child, the one her family had died in. Once again, her 6 ½ sense doesn’t give her a choice in the matter, forcing Chloe to return to her childhood past. It doesn’t take long for her to realize that something peculiar is occurring at Sunset Spa. More questions arise when she stumbles across a gorgeous hunk of a man, Luka Varek, which appears to be unconscious, naked, and chained to a wall. Was she intruding on some type of eccentric sex game or was Luka the reason she was sent here? While in his unconscious presence, she feels an alluring connection towards him, a feeling that goes beyond his unclothed state. Chloe fears her 6 ½ sense has mislead her into a situation with an outcome that may cost her dearly, with her life. The Consolation Prize grasped me form the start, overwhelming me, until I finished the last page! Many years ago, at the age of 6, Karma Marx (half-human and half-polter) was unaware of the power she possessed, until a tragedy occurred resulting in the death of her best friend. The Akashic League sentenced her to a wergeld, an indefinite term of servitude within their organization. Now she specializes in house cleaning and extermination, but it’s not your typical service. She doesn’t do windows, floors, or dusting, not even the eradication of rodents or bugs. Her job is to banish unwanted spirits, beings and entities that reek havoc in the mundane world. Contrary to her father’s (Mathew) beliefs, Karma has only vanquished one or two nasty beings. She usually takes them in as roommates, if unable to relocate them elsewhere.

Housing various creatures and forced into fostering a dysfunctional teen polter, Pixie, complicates matters further in her already strained marriage. Her husband, Spike, is a devious, conniving and cheating real estate agent, who detests and loathes otherworldly beings. When Spike offers to grant her a much desired divorce, she knew there had to be a catch, and of course, there was. He wanted her to clean one last house for him, the old Walsh’s house, and if she did not comply, he would make things extremely difficult for her. Having no choice, Karma reluctantly agrees to his terms.

Upon entry to the house, Karma and Pixie were intercepted by Adam Dirgesinger, the home’s former owner, and he’s furious about undesirable strangers invading his home. The situation turns ghastly after Adam uses his supernatural powers and seals the place up, trapping everyone inside for an unbearable twelve hours. Just when Karma thought things couldn’t get worse, her husband, Spike is found dead in the basement. Not only is Karma trapped in a house with an array of suspects, both humans and otherworldly beings, she is also locked-in with a murderer. Now, it’s up to Karma and Adam to solve this case before the spell runs out and the murderer is released into the mundane world.

Ghost of a Chance will have you questioning your detective skills. Just when you think you know who the murderer is, the author throws in another twist. Kate Marsh has created a spirited and vibrant world, where the characters and plot join together perfectly for an absolutely thrilling and invigorating read. I personally can’t wait for the sequel. This is a must read for anyone interested in Paranormal, Supernatural, and Mystery genres.

Kate Marsh grew up in a family where weekly library visits were a given. She spent most of her childhood with her nose in a book, usually a mystery. Kate started her career by writing nonfiction books about software, but her heart was always in fiction. Kate lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dogs, and can often be found lurking around online. You can also find her at www.katemarshmysteries.com and also www.katiemacalister.com.
